Full description:

This course offers introduction to issue from theoretical and practical perspective. We recognise social rehabilitation as science with roots in law, sociology, psychology or criminology.

Students will familiarized themselves with fundamental theory and trends in social rehabilitation. This course will provide an in-depth understanding of rehabilitation proces, methods and techniques which we use in social rehabilitation.

The course makes use of wide range of case studies to provide students with authentic documents and instruments from courts, probation offices, prisons, parole boards and prisons for young offenders. It also outlines the importance of diagnosis in rehabilitation proces. Students will get acquainted with different aspects of social rehabilitation in closed institutions like: prisons and prisons for young offenders as well as in open environment. The course explains the importance of cooperation between institutions which organize social rehabilitation in local communites, in addition to relevance and support from non – govemmental organizations.

After completion of the course students will gain basic understanding of social rehabilitation and will be able to indicate and describe theory and trends in social rehabilitation in XXI century. Further, students will be able to combine theory with practice.
