  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Full description:

The aim of the course is to develop students’ language competences in writing.

KNOWLEDGE – A STUDENT KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS

A student is able to use the vocabulary typical for formal and informal written forms of communication in English at C1 level

SKILLS – A STUDENT IS ABLE TO

- express himself/herself in writing on a variety of topics in several paragraphs. A student is able to create logical and coherent texts on a wide range of topics (200-230 words) at C1 level.

- independently or under the supervision of a lecturer, correct linguistic errors in written statements at the C1 level.

SOCIAL SKILLS – A STUDENT IS READY TO

develop language competences at C1 level through the use of monolingual, bilingual dictionaries, and dictionaries of synonyms and collocations.

Learning outcomes:

After passing the subject, a student:

1. knows vocabulary specific for formal and informal written expressions in English at least at a B2 level.

2. is able to write consist of several paragraphs, coherent, consistent, texts (200-230 words) on various topics, at least at a B2 level.

3. is able to correct his mistakes in written expressions (at least at a B2 level) by herself/himself or under the guidance of a lecturer.

4. develops her/his language skills by using monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, dictionaries of synonyms and collocation dictionaries.
