Information technology

Aims of the course:

1. the preparation of students for practical use of methods, tools and techniques of collecting data at the macro- and microeconomic level;

2. the formation of skills of using basic research techniques and methods, which are based on the information technology tools for the description and interpretation of economic phenomena;

3. the formation of skills of making a critical choice of data sources and literature, especially information from the Internet and Internet sources;

4. the formation of skills in developing and gaining knowledge on her/his own and keeping a critical eye on her/his level of knowledge;

5. the formation of skills of use of the acquired knowledge and abilities in professional practice, in order to prepare for professional life.

KNOWLEDGE – A STUDENT KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS:

1. should be able to choose the information from local and global data banks, needed for the clarification of problems posed; should be able to indicate information technology tools which allow for the analysis and the graphical presentation of collected data;

SKILLS – A STUDENT IS ABLE TO:

2. with the use of information technology tools, a student should be able to analyse data which reflect simple economic phenomena of everyday life; is able to prepare reports using basic research techniques and methods and information technology tools;

3. is able to give written and verbal reports on the ongoing analytical work using critical assessment of data sources and literature;

SOCIAL SKILLS – A STUDENT IS READY TO:
